FAQ & Important Information
For your review:
A word of caution: pets and littles!
As with outdoor plants, indoor plants can pose a risk to animals and humans. Please research your plants that may come into contact with pets or children. If ingested, seek veterinary or medical attention.
What does the plant size mean?
Our pricing for individual plants is based on the nursery pot size. While the foliage of a plant may appear too large for the pot, the roots are the ruler of our decisions. The larger, more mature the root system, the larger the pot will be. Additionally, some plants thrive with a tighter, root-bound environment, while others like to stretch more.
What's up with the mushrooms?
Fungi grows from mycelium, and a healthy soil will no doubt contain this. Moisture can cause the fruiting body (mushroom/fungi) to sprout from spores in the soil. Not to worry, you can remove the mushrooms and discard, or leave them for a groovy atmosphere. We are unable to identify mushrooms - please do no ingest. Seek medical care if concern of ingestion arises.
How do I care for my new plants?
Succulents hail from
dry climates, with most of our plants being native to Mexico. To combat the
droughts, succulents store water within their leaves, stems, and roots.
Overwatering is the most common issue with caring for these plants - the soil
should be dry before watering. They also need bright light. Each plant on our website includes a description that reviews water, light, temperature and soil guidelines. More information
can be found through your local Extension Service - feel free to read WV's tips

But how 'organic' is Gold Star?
Gold Star Nursery is
committed to providing plants as organically as possible. We do not use
synthetic pesticides, opting for natural pest control methods. These methods
may include: Neem oil, isopropyl alcohol, and diatomaceous earth. Some of our plants are received via a vendor, and we
cannot guarantee they use the same methods. Please be cautious with
your plants and keep away from pets and children.
Where is Gold Star's store?
Currently, Gold Star is only available to shop online and at pop-up vendor events. We are local to Martinsburg, WV. For now, follow our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates on events.
